We did not design a bag and then look for padding. ArmorEDC starts from a protective material — spun, aligned, laminated, cut, sewn and independently tested — then shapes it into something that fits ordinary life.

Will it fit my backpack?

The first format is sized for 13–16 inch laptop backpacks and business totes — it slides into the laptop compartment or against the back panel. Join Early Access and tell us which bag you carry; fit charts are published with the first batch.

How much does it weigh?

Final weight and dimensions will be published with the first production batch. Being light enough to carry every day is a core design requirement — an insert only protects if you actually carry it.

Is the backpack included?

No — ArmorEDC makes the insert only. Your bag stays yours; the insert is removable and moves between bags.

Is it NIJ certified?

No. The NIJ program certifies law-enforcement torso body armor and does not cover backpack inserts — from any company. Our material has completed independent material-level V50 testing at a U.S. laboratory, and the Testing page states plainly what that does and does not prove.

When will it be available?

The insert is in development and testing. No orders, pre-orders or deposits are being collected at this stage. Contact us if you would like to be informed when it becomes available.
