Every ArmorEDC product starts as UHMWPE non-woven UD — an ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene material engineered for soft, flexible protective layers. We stock it in the United States, process it to specification, and test it at independent laboratories.

Testing — the short version

Our material was tested at an independent U.S. laboratory to MIL-STD-662F V50 BL(P). That is a material-level result. It is not a finished-product result, and it is not a certification — the full evidence, including what the test does not establish, is set out below.

Soft rolls, not hard plates.

The material arrives as flexible roll goods. Layers are cut, stacked and finished into the shape each product needs — an insert panel, a material evaluation sample, or an OEM prototype built to a stated requirement.

It is sewable, laminatable and laser-cuttable, which is what makes fast prototyping possible.

We built this capability for our own insert. It is open to you too.

Sampling and OEM work is not a separate business line. It grew out of what we had to build to make our own product — which is also why we can put a real sample in your hands quickly.

Laser cutting, layering, edge sealing and sewing — enough capability to put a real, handleable sample in front of you before anyone commits to anything. It is how material conversations usually start.

Test Setup

How a ballistic test is actually run

Not a person firing at a target. A test article is clamped in a fixture, a rifled barrel is mounted in a universal receiver at a fixed standoff, and each shot is driven to a commanded velocity and measured by chronograph as it passes. Velocity is the variable being controlled; everything else is held constant so that results mean something when compared.

Note on the report: the laboratory report references NIJ 0101.07 HG2 in its “applicable standards or procedures” field. That field identifies the source of threat parameters used in test setup. It does not indicate, and should not be read as, any certification status.

Test panels are built, marked, shot under controlled conditions and kept. These are our own articles and witness materials — documentation, not a performance claim.

These photographs document test setup and articles. They are not a statement of protection level, and no result should be inferred from any image. Test-article labels and identifiers are intentionally removed.

Conditioned performance

Behavior after environmental and tumble conditioning has not yet been tested.

Back-face deformation

BFD measurement is part of finished-product protocols and has not yet been performed.

Angled impact

Angled-shot protocols under current standards have not yet been performed.

Certification Status

Stated without ambiguity.

What is true today

ArmorEDC materials have completed independent material-level V50 testing at a U.S. laboratory. Development, prototyping and small-batch production are active. Documentation is maintained per material lot and product batch.

What we do not claim

No ArmorEDC product is NIJ certified, NIJ listed or NIJ compliant. The NIJ program certifies law-enforcement torso body armor models — bags and accessory inserts are outside its scope. We never present test data as certification.
